Age Limit:
(1) Lower Primary Assistant Teacher: 18 to 43 Years as on 1st January 2017. The Relaxation of upper age limit will be considered for SC, ST(P), ST (H) and PH candidates for another 5 years, as per the Govt. of Assam.
(2) Upper Primary Teacher: 18 to 43 years of age as on 1st January 2016, provided the candidates have attained the necessary educational or other qualifications prior to the crossing of their existing upper age limit of 38 years. Relaxation of upper age limit will be considered for SC, ST (P), ST (H) and PH candidates for another 5 years, as per the Govt. of Assam.
The scale of Pay: Pay Band II ₹ 5,200 - 20,200/- + Grade Pay for all above posts.
Eligibility: A candidate must possess the ability to read, write and speak in the medium of instruction pertaining to the district in which the candidate wishes to apply.
Educational Qualifications:
Assistant Teacher for Lower Primary School: 50% in Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with LP TET and 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education from recognized institutes. (OR) Graduate degree from UGC recognized University with LP TET and 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education from recognized institutes. [5% relaxation of marks for SC/ ST(P)/ ST(H)/ OBC/ MOBC & Physically handicapped candidates]
Assistant Teacher for Upper Primary School: Graduate degree from the UGC recognized University and UP TET and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or B. Ed. or D. Ed. (Special Education) or B. Ed. (Special Education).
Science Teacher: B.Sc. degree from the UGC recognized University and UP TET qualified in Science and Mathematics stream. and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or B. Ed. or D. Ed. (Special Education) or B. Ed. (Special Education).
Hindi Teacher: Graduate degree from the UGC recognized University having Hindi as one of the subjects and UP TET and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or B. Ed. or D.Ed. (Special Education) or B. Ed. (Special Education).
Arabic Teacher: Graduate degree from the UGC recognized University having Arabic as one of the subjects and UP TET and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or B. Ed. or D. Ed. (Special Education) or B. Ed. (Special Education).
Application Fee: The candidates have to deposit an amount of ₹ 200/- [₹ 150/- for SC, ST(P), ST(H) candidates and free for BPL candidates] in the form of Indian Postal Order in the name of Director of Elementary Education, Assam, Kahilipara, Guwahati-19. The candidates must have to submit the IPO in original at the time of document verification only before the District Level Selection Committee of the district applied for.
